Flat-bottom Skiffs
  Spike

Spike is very simply built small flat bottomed dinghy with two side planks, so there is just the minimum of lapstrake experience in building this small entry level Oughtred ship.

It's capable of carrying up to 4 for a quiet row around a sheltered bay or small lake, but will be best with two for rowing sailing and with her wide transom motoring with say a 2 hp Honda air cooled outboard motor. VERSATILE! A bit fat for roof topping, but check your racks against the specs. Longer boats are sometimes quite easy to get on the car racks; I stand them up on their transom, the lower theme forward, still on the transom so that the bow lies on the first rack clearing the car boot, then push it on like closing a drawer.
